Another 5 Movies on Netflix to watch in preparation for Salt lake Comic Con 2014
July 31, 2014
Salt Lake Comic Con is still announcing guests for September 2014. The star-studded event is bringing in the big guns. Here are the next 5 movies on Netflix that you should see in preparation for Salt Lake Comic Con 2014. (There are some rumors that Addams Family, with Christopher Lloyd, will be removed on August 1, so it was not included in the final tally.) Much Ado About Nothing – Even if Salt Lake Comic Con 2014 does not feature anyone from this Joss Whedon adaptation of the Shakespeare comedy, do yourself a favor and see it. It will up your nerd cred in so many unimaginable ways, and no one is funnier than Nathan Fillion in his role as the Constable Dogberry. (At FanX, Fillion said he got a call from Whedon, and Whedon said, “I’m doing an…” Fillion said, “Yes.” “adaptation of Shakespeare, do you want to be in it?” Fillion went, “Uh, yeah, Shakespeare… It’ll be easy.” (Written from memory, click on the link to read what he really said.)) Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil – Alan Tudyk stars in this story of two misunderstood hillbillies that meet a bunch of campers in the woods. It is a horrifying comedy that goes about like you would expect when teens go camping, but not how you would expect a horror film to go. This is one of the few successful blendings of horror and comedy. Grand Canyon – This social drama has at least one truly shocking scene. Shown in graphic detail, the scene involving Steve Martin was traumatizing for a young adult and so well acted and staged that it has left an indelible memory. The all-star cast includes Danny Glover and Mary Louise Parker. The Usual Suspects – When this movie came out, it created such a sensation that Kevin Spacey’s star got brighter. The twist was something that no one had ever seen before. Regardless of the size of Giancarlo Esposito’s role, this movie should be on everyone’s list. No Holds Barred – I know what you are thinking: There is no reason for this film to be on anyone’s Top 5 list. However, this was released at a time when wrestling was still real. Hulk Hogan in his prime against Zeus. The best part about this film is that the storyline made it into the wrestling ring for real. Get up for some good 80s’ cheese, check your brain at the door and be pleasantly surprised.
