Adrian Paul, an orc from Weta, Stan Lee and Kevin Sorbo were some of the attractions at Salt Lake Comic Con 2013
Notes from Noah Hathway's talk at Salt lake Comic Con
Battlestar Galactica:
On Battlestar Galactica, Noah Hathaway worked with a chimpanzee in a dog suit. They were like a brother and sister because their birthdays were just one day apart. On set, he would make Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict mad by stealing their guns and shooting them.
“It was definitely not boring,” says Hathaway.

The Neverending Story:
He auditioned for a year before he got the role of Atreyu in The Neverending Story. “They gave me a tan. I was just tan,” says Hathaway. (See Hathaway talk about being green.) Falcore had 40 people working the eyes and mouth. It wasn’t CGI. “It gave it a real visceral feel to it,” says Hathaway. One of the best things was that he got to do his own stunts. It was a good outlet for a child with a lot of energy. |

“Who gets to do stuff like that?” asks Hathaway.
The death of Artax was tough for him to film.
“That scene, we shot for two weeks,” says Hathaway. “The hardest thing to do is to get emotional” and then suck it back in. “The hard thing was being emotional for two weeks.”
The emotions weren’t hard to come by because it was so real. Dealing with the emotions was another story.
“Flying the dragon was pretty cool,” says Hathaway.
Martial Arts:
“I am a forever student, so I like to learn a little bit about everything (in martial arts),” says Hathaway. “If you are a martial artist, you want to learn everything you can.”
The martial arts instill confidence.
“It also teaches you to be a good person first,” says Hathaway. “They (martial artists) don’t need to be bad ass because they are.” They don’t have to prove it.
Tattoos:
“I like to do a lot of Japanese stuff,” says Hathaway about his work as a tattoo artist. “I also like neotraditional.”
Acting:
Hathaway tested for the role of Doogie Howser. He made it to the top three and the part went to Neil Patrick Harris
“If you can’t make fun of yourself, youneed to get a sense of humor,” says Hathaway. “Most actors take themselves too damn seriously.”
Acting is just playing pretend.
Hathaway danced with Gene Kelly and Gregory Hines. He was also there when Michael Jackson caught his hair on fire in the Pepsi commercial. He says that the pain from that incident led Jackson to addiction.
