My mom, grandma, and sister decided to come with me to the meet and greet even though they haven’t seen the movie. My sister had already observed how much I liked Frozen by telling me that it would be weird if I were to decorate my apartment with dolls of Anna and Elsa.
When our turn came, I shouted, “I wanna build a snowman!” then I added, Wait, was that awkward? Not that you’re awkward. I’m awkward. You, you’re gorgeous. Wait, wha?” Elsa asked Anna if that reminded her of someone she knew. We shared a short conversation, and when I shook Elsa’s exceedingly warm hand, I was taken aback and commented on how warm it was – she’s the Snow Queen. I made a comment about the warmth. She said that she had learned to control it, which led to a short conversation about letting it go. Elsa liked that I had made so many movie references. Poor Anna looked like she was feeling left out, but I connect more with Elsa’s character in the movie and with her character at the meet and greet. After a few photos by myself, the family joined in. It is okay to indulge in a fantasy land as long as you know where the line is. If the line becomes a little blurry while you are at Disneyland, I suspect that is okay, too.
