Top 4 Friday Reads
The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas – this classic tale of swashbuckling musketeers out to save a young French king has had several movie adaptations and with good reason. The novel is a barn burning story about young and brash D’Artagnan who wants nothing more than to become one of the king’s musketeers. In spite of his confidence and cockiness, becoming a musketeer is harder than he thinks, and he ends up challenging three of the best musketeers to separate duels. The story is full of intrigue and surprise, the book is long enough that no movie could ever do it justice. Dumas also wrote sequels, so if you love the characters, you will be able to read more about them from the man who wrote the original story.
