Filmmaker Sam Brudnok talks Salem filmmaking and 'Demon in a Bottle' at Northwest Comic Fest
Nak Films presented a screening of the first installment of Demon in a Bottle at the Northwest Comic Fest film festival on August 14, 2015. The short film comes out of filmmaker Sam Brudnok’s real life experience with alcoholism.
“It’s a story based on addiction and how a simple individual can slowly go downhill,” says Brudnok.
After completion of Demon in a Bottle, Brudnok expects Nak Films to begin working on three different projects: Melting Pot, a serious look at immigration and what it means to be human, Two Drinks Shy, a superhero comedy, and a stop motion animated film for children.
“We want to show we are a multi-talented studio,” says Brudnok about the different genres the studio is working on.
Casting calls are usually announced on Craigslist and on the Nak Films Facebook page.
“There’s a very large film industry in Portland and Eugene,” says Brudnok. “I want to kind of show people you don’t have to be in Eugene or Portland.” People can do professional films in Salem.
Nak Films has previously released Scamelot. They also have a booth at the Northwest Comic Fest 2015.
