In 1984, my mom took my sister, my grandma, my cousin and me for a once in a lifetime trip to Walt Disney World, which at that time consisted of the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Always on the lookout for experiences that not everyone will get to do, I found out that the barbershop on Main Street, U.S.A. was an actual barbershop. I had to get a haircut because I thought that it was an experience relatively few people have.
Flash forward to 2012 – as a cast member on the college program, my hair had to be cut regularly to meet the Disney look standards. What better place to get it done and relive memories of 1984 than at the barbershop on Main Street, U.S.A.? The Disney Company does offer other places for cast members to get their haircuts on site at a discount, but sometimes, it is nice to go back to a more innocent time in your own age and in the ideas brought about by the environment.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Harmony Barber Shop gives about 400 haircuts a week, which makes getting a haircut there special, and for those who need their first haircut, there are some extra special perks.
