Top 5 Disney House Cats
To create a top 5 list of Disney cats was just too impossible. Bagheera, Shere Khan, Rajah and the clowder of other wildcats is bewildering to narrow down. Of course, making a list of house cats requires some abstract thinking. Is Tigger a house cat or a wildcat? I think if you asked him, he would say wild cat. With all that in mind, and with some memory help from the Disney Wiki page, here are the top 5 Disney house cats:
5. Lucifer – the evil, spoiled cat of Cinderella. He never did get to eat the mice.
4. Abraham DeLacey Giuseppe Casey Thomas O’Malley, O’Malley the Alley cat – Sings, dances and has the best song in Disney’s Dance Dance Revolution. Also a cast member of Disney’s cat film The Aristocats, which some believe is counter-programming to Disney’s 101 Dalmations.
3. Peg Leg Pete – Mickey’s main nemesis for many years started in Mickey’s first released cartoon, “Steamboat Willie”. Did you know he is a cat?
2. Julius the Cat – the first named Disney character and older than Mickey Mouse, Julius was in the Alice Adventures.
1. The Cheshire Cat – Witty with the voice of Sterling Holloway and always getting Alice’s goat. “Can you stand on your head?”
Honorable mention: Si and Am from Lady and the Tramp. These Siamese cats were both voiced by Peggy Lee, whose voice was recorded and then sped up. Figaro from Pinocchio also starred in some short films of his own.
