Umbrella Corporation Utah Hive takes on zombies for charity
The Umbrella Corporation – Utah Hive (UCUH) will have a booth and be taking donations for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund at Salt Lake Comic Con’s FanX April 17 to April 19, 2014. Comic Con attendees will be able to take pictures with the group. UCUH will also have the Zombie Response Vehicle (ZRV), a decontamination chamber and a 50-caliber machine gun. Alice may make an appearance.
Founded in 2013 to be the security force at Strankenstein’s Zombie Prom for Juvenile Diabetes, the Umbrella Corporation’s reputation as the bad guys is not lost on Founder Steve Strank, but one of the members doing security at the Zombie Prom wore the Umbrella Corporation patch.
“They look cool,” says Strank. “We all have the gear.”
Originally, UCUH was a mix of law enforcement and military people, but they have expanded to include many more people in their group. UCUH does charity events and can be contacted through their Facebook page.
One of the best things about being a part of the UCUH is “the reaction when a whole group of us come walking in.”
The UCUH attended the FanX Zombie Invasion Ball to fend off the invasion of the capitol building.
