Doctor Who: The companions, the conflicts, the cosmos at Salt lake Comic Con 2014
Panelists Amber Dahl, Tracy Mangum, Rebecca Frost, Tyson Huber, Kenny Dunn and Kyle Steenblik discussed their favorite arts of Doctor Who. What is good about Doctor Who?
“It’s fun. It’s funny. It’s sexy,” says Huber. “It’s whimsical, and there’s hope. The Companions “The Doctor needs the companion basically to be a relatable character,” says Steenblik, who held the group to the storytelling elements that the Doctor requires instead of the wibbly-wobbly emotional attachments. “We need, as an audience, someone to relate to.” Rose, recent winner of the most popular companion battle royal for radiotimes.com, was a grounding love. “She gave him a hug when he needed it the most,” says Frost. The favorite companions for the panelists: Rory, Ace, Rose, Captain Jack, Amy Pond, Donna. The Conflicts The Daleks “They are persistent,” says Steenblik, that is probably the most terrifying thing about them. “The Doctor is full of rage,” says Frost. Favorite villains: Weeping Angels, The Master, the Silence The Cosmos Where would the panelists go? The Library, the diamond planet, midnight, the end of time, the beginning of time, to witness Tracy Mangum’s proposal, oneish B.C., and to the dinosaurs to bring one back to prove to a friend that they were real. The Doctor radio plays were recommended and are available for purchase at bigfinish.com. “Some people like sports; some people like epic speeches from Doctor Who.” |
