It's in the name: 'The Magnificent 7' Completely great
I saw this movie in Russian. Something may have been lost in translation.
The Magnificent 7 (2016) is a beautiful filmed movie with great actors and a suspenseful build up to a climax and denouement that don’t disappoint. The blocking and camera work in this movie stand out in a good way. Denzel Washington becomes more menacing, background landscapes more beautiful and the action more intense as the cameras capture each nuance and are placed in critical positions to get the work done correctly. Usually a film suffers if the audience notices the camera work. In this case, the movie soars because of it. Mauro Fiore deserves a shout out.
Denzel leads the film in typical Denzel style. Chris Pratt puts on his best Clint Eastwood performance. Ethan Hawke puts in a gritty performance, and the rest of the actors fill their roles admirably. The best of the group, however, may be the Kingpin himself, Vincent D’Onofrio as the crazy mountain man though some of that has to go to his Russian dubber.
In the end, the film delivers everything that it should, a final shootout and a ride off into the sunset. It is the suspense, the comedy and the tense scenes in between that make it complete.
