Non-Stop Action for Liam Neeson and a hijacked plane
Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore head a cast that bring the
taut thriller Non-Stop to life. Each
actor plays his or her role convincingly, and each shows the appropriate
emotion when it comes to being on a hijacked plane after 2011.
The story offers a roll call of suspects with each more convincing than the last. The Muslim doctor seems to stereotypical except maybe that’s why he is the one. The actual suspects seem less likely. Maybe it’s Moore, even though it can’t possibly be her. Maybe it’s the cop or the stewardess or the co-pilot. A viewer can spend the first two acts second guessing his or herself while trying to figure out who the hijacker is. Sure, the movie is a stereotypical story of redemption with Neeson playing the alcoholic who has lost his family, but for an action film, it has enough meat to satisfy the discerning viewer with questions about security and what it would take to create security for a country. Clearly, few people will watch Non-Stop expecting anything more than an adrenaline packed good time, and that is what the film delivers. Plus, it has the greatest bathroom fight scene since Austin Powers wanted to know who Number 2 worked for. |
