3 things I missed out on at D23 Expo 2017
There were 3 things that I missed out on during my D23 Expo 2017 experience. That is not to say that I didn’t miss a lot of things. However, missing out means I wanted to do these things and for some reason or other couldn’t get to them.
The Parks and Resorts Panel
The first I wasn’t too upset about because it ended up being my choice. By the time I moved to get in line for the Parks and Resorts presentation, the end was somewhere on the other side of the convention center. As people walked past me and I tried to find the back of the line, I finally decided it just wouldn’t be worth it. My family and I went and explored the floor, enjoying the Pirates museum and looking for possible souvenirs. There are the slim possibilities that my D23 Gold membership may have gotten me into another line or that I would have gotten in if I had simply persevered, but it just didn’t seem like it would be worth it. (People who went to the panel got a green Mickey Mouse balloon with sentimental value and preferred seating at Fantasmic!)
Uncle Scrooge’s Money Bin
Ever since I sang and did the moves to (and I still got 'em) “Get the Money” with the Beagle Boys on Disney’s Mousercise cassette and watched Uncle Scrooge swim in his money bin on Duck Tales, I have wanted to dive in myself. Unfortunately, both times I went by the bin, it was closed. On Sunday, I was there at 3pm and the cast member said no dice, even my pouty face couldn’t get here to let me in. Maybe they knew something about my former Beagle Boys connection.
A Kiss Goodnight
On Saturday, Richard Sherman and Floyd Norman talked about their book, “A Kiss Goodnight.” It was available at D23 Expo exclusively and wouldn’t be released until later this year to the public at large. I wanted one of these books because it was written by two Disney legends. However, when I got to the point that I could get to the floor, the book had sold out.
Everything else I had on my list I was able to accomplish. I got to see Jim Cummings, Marty Sklar and Richard Sherman (twice). It was a great time for everyone in my group. Tell us what you missed out on below.
